President John Nixon to Retire at the End of the 2019-20 School Year

I informed the VC faculty and staff of my desire to  retire  when my current employment contract expires on August 31, 2020. By then our campus redevelopment should be finished and Our Next Century Campaign goal of $36 Million should be achieved and hopefully surpassed.

In early 2019, I served notice to the Board of Directors early which gave them some time to implement its Succession Plan. The Board  affirmed the critical role of  the President in  advancing the Mission of Vancouver College by providing ongoing leadership in the development of VC's faith and learning community.

I am extremely pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has appointed current Principal, Mr. Johnny Bevacqua, as the incoming President of Vancouver College, effective September 1, 2020.

Mr. Bevacqua and I will continue striving to achieve our mission and vision for this great school.  We have been blessed with a community of dedicated donors like yourselves who have helped us get to where we are today. We look forward to your continued commitment to Vancouver College to ensure its legacy of faith, service, and excellence is here for our boys today and those in generations to come.

Yours truly,

John  H. Nixon  (VC'69)
President, Vancouver College
