In January 2019, Mr. John Nixon announced to the Board of Directors his intention to retire from the position of VC President on August 31, 2020. We thank John Nixon for his tremendous passion for and excellent leadership of Vancouver College in guiding the fundraising and campus redevelopment from September 2014 to its completion in 2020. Mr. Nixon should be proud of the accomplishments that will have been made during his six years in office.

Mr. Bevacqua presented and was evaluated in April and May 2019 through a process that was carefully selected by the Board. This process included extended due diligence and thorough evaluation by an external, professional recruitment firm as well as benchmarking against similar roles and similarly qualified professionals. The assessment and evaluation process was rigorous, fair and the results were independently presented to the Board.  
 
He was found to be exceptionally strong and well-suited to role of President as a strategic visionary educational leader for Vancouver College.
